Carpet Tiles

Carpet Tiles

Carpet tiles, also known as carpet squares, are a type of flooring which can be used as an alternative to the more common rolled carpet. They are formed from an upper layer of pile attached to a backing and are produced in a variety of sizes, materials, fibres, patterns and colours.

carpet is a textile floor covering typically consisting of an upper layer of pile attached to a backing. The pile was traditionally made from wool, but, since the 20th century, synthetic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon or polyester are often used, as these fibers are less expensive than wool.

Carpet tile is used in all types of commercial applications for high traffic areas. The reason for the installation of carpet tile in high traffic areas is that the tiles in these areas can be replaced with tiles from lower traffic areas and the look of the building is easier to maintain.

You can either sweep the floor or use a vacuum cleaner to lift any loose dirt or dust. The tiles will lay straight onto either a stone, concrete or wooden floor without the need for underlay. Any existing floor coverings like carpet or underlay must be totally removed prior to fitting.
