Taking down the kitchen cabinets? Start by clearing out everything inside them.
Remove the cabinet doors and drawers. Label the backs of each, so if you are reusing them, you will know where they belong. Tape the screws to the hinges. If you are not reusing them and they are still in good shape, consider donating them. Installing your own kitchen cabinets is a great way to save money on your kitchen renovation. Using pre-made or stock cabinets will make the job easier and allow for a quicker installation project.
Take off the cove molding along the soffit with a pry bar.
Unscrew the cabinet unit from the soffit and remove the cabinets.
Throw away or donate the old cabinet doors, molding and hardware.
