Premier general contracting for educational facilities
With 20 years of experience in the New York City public school construction field, AC Interior Group understands the unique requirements, schedules, logistics, and standards involved in completing construction projects within NYC educational facilities.
Educational construction is different from conventional commercial construction. Schools often require substantial work to be completed within short summer, holiday, or weekend windows — with occupied portions of a building, multiple stakeholders, and firm reopening dates. AC Interior Group has built its operation around these challenges.

How we work. AC Interior Group operates as a general contractor and construction manager. Our role is leadership, coordination, scheduling, and field management. When a project requires specialty services outside our direct scope, we coordinate with appropriately qualified and licensed specialty contractors as required by the project.
Complete project coordination.
Successful school construction depends on more than individual trades. It requires someone to manage the entire operation.
AC Interior Group serves as the central point of responsibility for the construction process — coordinating subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, schedules, inspections, approvals, field conditions, documentation, and project closeout.
Our project management team maintains constant communication between the field and project stakeholders so decisions can be made quickly and potential problems can be addressed before they affect the schedule.
We understand the importance of:
- Working within strict school construction schedules
- Maintaining proper project documentation
- Planning work around occupied buildings and school operations
- Coordinating inspections, approvals, and closeout requirements
- Coordinating with school and facility representatives
- Managing multiple trades under demanding timelines
- Responding quickly to field conditions
- Delivering spaces that are ready for students and staff on schedule
Three phases. One accountable team.
01
Phase
Preconstruction
Strong projects begin before anyone enters the field. We review drawings, specifications, field conditions, logistics, schedules, long-lead materials, and trade requirements to identify potential issues early.
02
Phase
Construction
Once construction begins, our project managers and field supervision coordinate trades, deliveries, inspections, documentation, and daily progress — keeping the schedule and the stakeholders aligned.
03
Phase
Closeout
As completion approaches, we coordinate punch-list work, final inspections, documentation, owner training when applicable, and project turnover. Our objective is simple: deliver a finished school that is ready when the students and staff return.
When the first day of school doesn't move, neither can the completion date.
Many of our projects operate under schedules measured in weeks rather than months. AC Interior Group regularly plans projects around summer recesses, school holidays, weekends, after-hours operations, phased occupancy, and other limited construction windows. We identify long-lead materials early, establish critical-path activities, coordinate trades before mobilization, and continuously track project progress.
Multiple Crews
When the scope demands it
Extended Shifts
Nights & weekend work
Phased Turnover
Space-by-space delivery
Construction inside an active school is a different discipline.
Work areas must be carefully coordinated with school operations, staff, students, deliveries, building access, noise restrictions, and daily facility requirements.
Our team develops project-specific logistics and phasing strategies designed to minimize disruption while allowing construction to progress efficiently. Whether work takes place during the school year or during an accelerated summer program, we maintain a professional, controlled, and organized jobsite.
Safety, compliance & professional oversight
Safety and compliance are fundamental components of every AC Interior Group project. We coordinate work in accordance with applicable project requirements, building regulations, specifications, and site-specific safety procedures. When a project requires specialty services outside our direct scope, we coordinate with appropriately qualified and licensed specialty contractors. Our role remains focused on what we do best: general contracting, construction management, coordination, scheduling, and successful project delivery.
Work that has to be finished before the bell rings.

Interior build-outs
Two decades of anticipating what schools need
For two decades, AC Interior Group has worked in the NYC public school construction field. That experience allows us to anticipate many of the challenges unique to educational facilities before they become problems.
Single-Source Accountability
Instead of managing numerous contractors independently, clients can rely on AC Interior Group to coordinate the complete construction operation.
Schedule-Driven Management
School opening dates, summer schedules, testing periods, and academic calendars create deadlines that must be taken seriously. We plan to them from day one.
Responsive Communication
Construction decisions often need to happen quickly. Our team maintains direct communication with project stakeholders throughout construction.
Multi-Trade Capability
We manage projects involving architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology, and specialty construction trades under one coordinated project plan.
Problem Solving in the Field
Existing buildings rarely match drawings perfectly. Our team identifies field conditions, develops practical solutions, and coordinates resolutions with the project team.
20 Years of Educational Construction
Two decades inside the NYC public school system means fewer surprises, faster decisions, and a contractor who already knows how these projects run.
